History2000 - Started Moto-X - Raced 3 races in Novice Class on a Yamaha 50cc and won all three.
2001 - Rode the Yamaha PW 50 Class. Regionally in KwaZulu Natal came 2nd and Nationally in South Africa came 3rd for the year.
2002 - Moved to the KTM 65cc Clutch Lever. Achieved 4th Regionally and 7th Nationally. Mathewís other activities were Soccer and Karate where he achieved KwaZulu Natal Colours
2003 - 2nd Year on the KTM 65cc Clutch Lever where he came 2nd Regionally in KwaZulu Natal, and finished 3rd Nationally in South Africa. Once again received Natal Colours for Karate.
2004 - Moved to a Yamaha 85cc small wheel. Came 2nd Regionally and came 4th Nationally and this was his final year in Junior Motor Cross. Mathew achieved Half Colours for Natal for Cross Country for his School Crawford La Lucia. Mathew achieved Natal Colours in Karate for the 3rd year.
2005 - Raced Mini Moto 125cc Series where he won both the Regional and National Championship. Raced Senior Moto-X on a Yamaha 85cc big wheel and achieved a 7th position. Mathew achieved his Junior Black Belt in Karate.
2006 - Raced in the Super Moto on a 125cc and again won the Regional and National Championship. Entered into the Honda CBR 150 Championship which was open to all ages which he won Regionally and Nationally.
2007 - Entered the 125cc SA Championship and won 9 of 14 races and finished second due to him gaining entry into the Redbull Rookies Moto GP Cup Series. Mathew achieved 1st place in the Natal Championship.
2008 - Finished 6th Overall in the Redbull Rookies Moto GP Cup with 3 podiums.
2009 - 2nd year with Redbull Rookies in a reduced season and finished 7th overall with 2 podiums. Competed in the last 2 rounds of the CEV Spanish Cup Championship. Mathew also got his National Colours for racing from Motorsport South Africa.
2010 - 3rd and final year with the Redbull Rookies MotoGP Cup. An amazing experience. Unfortunaly Mathew had a bad crash in Assen which shortened his season by 3 months , due to reconstruction to his foot. Mathew also competed in the IDM German Championship and the CEV Spanish Championship.
2011 - Mathew competed in Moto2 in the CEV Championship.
